The Marine Resource Council (MRC) is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to engaging the community in actions to save the Indian River Lagoon coastal estuary. They hold government workshops, facilitate diverse stakeholder groups, showcase community leaders, train green businesses and LagoonLifesaver speakers, plant shorelines, conduct monthly lagoon-focused workshops, and manage the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House, a lagoon-front venue for education and natural history.
MRC is governed by a Board of Directors that is voted on by their membership and has a dedicated group of scientific advisers. MRC depends on community donations to carry-on its many programs and community functions.
